Support and Petition for Luminor Cinema in Paris

As the only independent cinema in Le Marais, Luminor finds itself unwittingly embroiled in a legal battle with the property owner. Despite consistently successful performance, with attendance figures on the rise, reaching nearly 90,000 admissions in 2023, and despite the dedication of its team and its ability to fully engage with the dynamics of the French film market, this two-screen cinema is indeed facing closure today.

Yet, across Europe, there is a resurgence of cinemas in city centers, as awareness grows about the value of these activities for audiences and citizens. Luminor is undeniably one of these places that has enabled a diverse and inclusive cultural experience for a broad audience for decades.

In anticipation of a crucial upcoming court hearing on March 24th, we invite network members to show their solidarity by signing the petition at this link.
