Meet this year's Europa Cinemas jury members

In the framework of the 68th Berlinale, a Jury made of 4 Network exhibitors will award the Europa Cinemas Label to a European film from the Panorama section. The 4 Jury members from Belgium, Germany, Hungary and Russia will announce the Award winning film on Friday, February 23, 2018. This year, 11 films will compete for the Label.

The 4 Jury members are: Frédéric Cornet (Cinema Galeries, Brussels, Belgium), Mustafa El Mesaoudi (Cinema and Rex Filmtheater, Wuppertal, Germany), Nóra Kasza (Art+ Cinema, Budapest, Hungary) and Stanislav Ershov (Angleterre Cinema Lounge, St.Petersburg, Russia).

Frédéric Cornet

Cinema Galeries, Brussels

Frederic Cornet joined the Cinema Galeries' team in 2013 as coordinator of the festivals "Heure d'été" and "Heure d'hiver". In September 2016, he became the managing and artistic director of the cinema. Cinema Galeries is a place for moving images with three screens and a 1000 m2 exhibition space.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mustafa El Mesaoudi

Cinema and Rex Filmtheater, Wuppertal

After holding a general manager position at the multiplex company Kinopolis in Leverkusen and Bonn, Germany, from 1999 to 2003, Mustafa El Mesaoudi founded the distribution company Die Telepaten Filmverleih in 2004 and was its general manager until 2012. Since 2003 he has been owning and managing a small multiplex cinema in Grevenbroich, Germany, through the exhibition company Grevenbroicher Lichtspielhaus GmbH. He also owns and manages the Cinema and the Rex Filmtheater in Wuppertal, respectively since 2007 and 2014.

 

 

 

 

Nóra Kasza

Art+ Cinema, Budapest

Nora Kasza gained her experience in film-making while living in London for 5 years. Since 2017 she works at the Hungarian distribution and theatre owner company Vertigo Media ltd. as a distribution and cinema manager. Vertigo Media runs an art cinema in the heart of Budapest. Nora's duties include organizing films and posters, and doing statistics.

 

 

 

 

 

Stanislav Ershov

Angleterre Cinema Lounge, St.Petersburg

Member of the NIKA Russian Academy of the Cinematic Arts, Stanislav Ershov co-founded and became Executive Director of the Interregional Charitable Fund for the Development of the Marinsky Theatre in 2000, before becoming its CEO in 2001. Between 2001 and 2003 he was the acting director of the Gorky Central Film Studio for Children and Youth, and then the General Director of the Gorky Film Studio until 2010. Since 2006 he has been the President of the "Cinema and Theatre" Foundation (St Petersburg). He has also produced several films, such as "The House of the Sun" by Garik Sukachev, "Generation P" by Victor Ginzburg, "Arie" by Roman Kachanov, "The Best of Times" by Svetlana Proskurina, “Greek Holiday" by Vera Storozheva, etc..
