Call for applications

09/01/2020

The third edition of the Europa Cinemas Innovation Prize is now open.

Innovation Prize 2020

This prize, initiated with the support of Creative Europe/MEDIA, aims to reward outstanding innovative actions implemented by one or several member cinemas which have the potential to inspire other exhibitors. For your information, the first winner of the Innovation Prize in 2018 was the cinema Fyrisbiografen in Uppsala (Sweden) which successfully used data analysis to improve its cinema-going experience. In 2019 the film theatre Budascoop in Kortrijk (Belgium) was awarded for its inclusion and diversification policies which resulted in a 50% increase of the Young Audience numbers over a year.

The Prize consists of a 10,000€ award attributed by a representative of the European Commission at the upcoming Europa Cinemas Exhibitors Meeting during Cannes International Film Festival (day to be confirmed).

The call for applications is presently open and exclusive to members of the network.

If between January 1st and December 31st 2019, you have successfully implemented new and original initiatives aiming at developing new audiences (particularly young ones), using new digital technologies, improving environmental sustainability, ameliorating social cohesion within your structure, etc., do not hesitate to send us your application!

Download here the Prize Guidelines with the eligibility requirements as well as the Application Form, to be duly filled in and returned before February 17th, 2020. Please send them to innovationprize@europa-cinemas.org
