Europa Cinemas at the 75th Berlinale (13 – 23 February 2025)

Four Network exhibitors from Austria, Hungary, Ireland and Turkey will take part in the Europa Cinemas Label Jury at the upcoming 75th Berlinale. The Jury members will award one film among the 10 European films competing in Panorama section for our Label.

Europa Cinemas at the 75th Berlinale (13 – 23 February 2025)

The four EC Label Jury members are:

Klaudia Elsässer (Founder, Art+ Cinema, Budapest, Hungary)

With a background in publishing, Klaudia Elsässer worked for 13 years as an editor and later as a publisher before transitioning to cinema. In 2009, she co-founded Pannonia Entertainment, an Eastern European event cinema and arthouse film distribution company, together with her husband, cinema manager Attila Farkas. In 2016, they expanded their work by establishing Pannónia Movie, the exhibitor branch of the company. She currently oversees the operation of five cinemas in Budapest, including the arthouse venue Art+ Cinema.

David Kelly (Programmer, Light House Cinema, Dublin, Ireland)

David Kelly has been working for a decade in Light House Cinema in Dublin across the programming and marketing departments. As a programmer he has delivered successful schools programmes, seasons, signature strands and events to a diverse range of audiences. As Digital  Marketing Manager he connected to local and global audiences by developing a unique voice for Light House and significantly grew its online reach through a series of successful campaigns. David is currently the Light House Cinema programmer.

Constanze Oedl (Programming, Marketing, Events, Stadtkino im Künstlerhaus, Vienna, Austria)

Originally from Salzburg, Constanze Oedl moved to Vienna to study Theatre, Film, and Media Studies as well as Film, TV, and Media Production. During her studies, she completed an internship at the film distribution company Stadtkino Filmverleih, where she has now been working for six years. Her role has expanded to include programming, marketing, collaborations, and event organization at the affiliated cinema, Stadtkino im Künstlerhaus. She particularly enjoys exchanging opinions about films and developing new programming strategies to engage diverse audiences.

Cenk Sezgin (CEO, Cinemarine Cinemas, Bodrum, Turkey)

Cenk Sezgin founded Cinemarine in 1994 with a single screen in Bodrum, expanding it to 12 cinemas with 100 screens and 13,000 seats across 10 cities. He is the founder and honorary chairman of SISAY, Türkiye’s first cinema exhibitors association. Since 2011, he has led the Bodrum Turkish Films Week (BOTH), held annually in Bodrum and Kos, and launched CineBodrum in 2014. In 2017, he created the nationwide project "1 Million Students Meet with Cinema" in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth and Education. He holds a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and speaks English and German.

HOME SWEET HOME (Hjem kære hjem) by Frelle Petersen (Denmark), 112 min.

HYSTERIA by Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay (Germany), 104 min.

THE INCREDIBLE SNOW WOMAN (L’Incroyable femme des neiges) by Sébastien Betbeder (France), 111 min.

THE UGLY STEPSISTER (Den stygge stesøsteren) by Emilie Blichfeldt (Norway), 110 min.

WELCOME HOME BABY by Andreas Prochaska (Austria), 115 min.

The Europa Cinemas Label Award Ceremony will take place on Saturday, 22 February at noon in the Press Conference Hall of Grand Hyatt Berlin (Marlene-Dietrich-Platz 2, 10785 Berlin) in the framework of Berlinale's official award ceremony of Independent Juries.
