Lux Audience Award Young Talent Programme
Launched in 2024 by the European Parliament together with Europa Cinemas, The LUX Audience Award Young Talent Programme offers an exciting opportunity for young professional in the film industry. It aims at training and engaging 27 young cinema professionals — representing all EU Member States — to support the promotion of the LUX Audience Award and the core values of the European Union through European cinema.
Each year, the selected young talents attend a fully funded programme in Strasbourg including informative sessions with key partners, stakeholders, and relevant film organisations (filmmakers, distributors, producers, critics, etc.) about the European Parliament and the Lux Audience Award.
By leveraging the passion and creativity of the selected young cinema professionals, the programme aims to elevate the profile of the LUX Audience Award and foster a greater appreciation and visibility of the selected films among audiences and film professionals.
The objectives of the programme include:
- Increasing the visibility of the LUX Audience Award and its nominated films throughout the EU.
- Providing young professionals in the film industry with the opportunity to contribute to the promotion of European Cinema and Values.
- Fostering collaboration among national cinema sectors, EPLOs, and local communities to strengthen cultural dialogue and European identity.
________
The Young Talent Programme evolved from the former 27 Times Cinema initiative (a collaboration between LUX Audience Award, Europa Cinemas, Giornate Degli Autori and Cineuropa). From 2010 to 2023, 27 Times Cinema project brought together each year 27 young cinephiles – one per EU country – at the Venice Film Festival.
