EuroCineMedEuroCineMed is a programme that offers support to film festivals in Europe and the Mediterranean region. It is implemented and financed by the Preparatory Action of the MEDIA International programme of the European Commission.
It aims to promote films from the 27 countries of the European Union and the following 10 Mediterranean countries and territories : Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Palestinian Territories, Tunisia and Turkey.
EuroCineMed encourages in particular efforts to programme European films in Mediterranean countries and films from the South in Europe, especially of recent films. These efforts can be translated by a significant increase in the number of European or Mediterranean films programmed or by a better exhibition of these films. Moreover, this action aims to promote initiatives, meetings and exchanges between Mediterranean and European professionals to improve the circulation of the films. This partnership will allow the festival’s public to discover new films from the South and have a better understanding of the reality and cultures of Mediterranean countries.
