EUROPA CINEMAS LABEL
|
A jury made up of 4 Network exhibitors has to award the Label to one of the European films of the selection.
Europa Cinemas encourages network exhibitors to make the decision to schedule the labelled film from its first week and, by granting a Bonus, provides them with an incentive to keep it on the programming schedule for as long as possible. This financial Bonus is implemented after two weeks of exhibition and a minimum number of screenings.
The awarding of the Label in one of these festivals is important to launch the film in the international markets. It increases the visibility of the prize-winning film both in the media as well as among the professionals present at the festival, in particular distributors and exhibitors.
Europa Cinemas Label mobilizes distributors and exhibitors to protect cultural diversity on European screens.

Bonus:
Single-screen cinemas: After 1 week of programming and more than 14 screenings, every screening will count double in the calculation of the cinema´s percentage of European screenings. This percentage is the key to determine the Europa Cinemas financial support.
Cinemas with more than 2 screens: After a week of programming and more than 28 screenings, every screening will count double in the calculation of the cinema´s percentage of European non national screenings.
For example: a theatre schedules 40 screenings (12 screenings beyond the 28 screening minimum) of the film Frozen City. These 12 screenings are counted double (12 x 2 = 24 screenings). We therefore consider that this film has been shown 52 times (the 28 minimum screenings + 24 additional screenings).
