Europa Cinemas at the Berlinale 2016
In the framework of the upcoming 66th Berlinale, a Jury made of 4 Network exhibitors will award the Europa Cinemas Label to a European film from the Panorama section. The 4 Jury members from Lithuania, Sweden, Poland and Germany will announce the Award winning film on Friday, February 19, 2016. This year, 13 films will compete for the Label.

The 4 Jury members are: Greta Akcijonaite, Kino Pasaka, Vilnius (Lithuania), Mathias Holtz, Folkets Hus och Parker (Sweden), Gosia Kuzdra, Kino Muza, Poznan (Poland), Torsten Raab, Puschkino, Halle (Germany).
GRETA AKCIJONAITE, Kino Pasaka, VILNIUS (Lithuania)
Greta is the co-owner and head of distribution and programming at Kino Pasaka, in the old town of Vilnius. Founded in 2009, it is the only private art house cinema in Lithuania which offers two screens and also distributes films in Lithuania and the Baltic states. The company has distributed 26 titles so far including: Serial (Bad) Weddings,Ida, White Shadow, Elles, Habemus papam, Les bien-aimés, Yo, también, Pranzo di ferragosto and Soul Kitchen. Pasaka hosts all the main film festivals and events in Vilnius and is also active in educational activities. During summer the cinema relocates for open-air screenings. The company is a member of Europa Distribution, Europa Cinemas, CICAE and EDEN networks.
MATHIAS HOLTZ, Folkets Hus och Parker (Sweden)
Mathias is a programmer for Swedish exhibitor Folkets Hus och Parker, a position he has held for 10 years. His responsibility includes programming inner city art houses in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Helsingborg, as well as rural commercial cinemas and community center art houses. He also manages international contacts with the likes of Europa Cinemas and works with development projects regarding digital transition, live screenings and alternative content. Before his current position he worked as a booker for Swedish distributor Triangelfilm. His eclectic and incomplete academic career includes university studies in cultural history, drama and film. He also attended film school. After a short and unsuccessful creative career, crowned by a job as an editor for a feature film, where in six months’ time not one second of edited material emerged, he turned to the cinema business and has never looked back.
GOSIA KUZDRA, Kino Muza, POZNAN (Poland)
Since 2007, Gosia Kuzdra has worked in Kino Muza, one of the oldest art-house cinemas in Poland. Under her management, Kino Muza's admissions increased by 500% and the theatre became an important cultural spot in the city of Poznan, with diverse and consistent programming and an open attitude towards viewers. Gosia is also co-founder and programmer of No Women No Art Festival. This year, she fell in love with a road trip film and she started a distribution company, GoTo Films, to release it in Polish theatres.
TORSTEN RAAB, Puschkino, HALLE (Germany)
Born in 1967 in Halle (Saale), Torsten started his career working as train driver. He then co-founded the filmclub "LaBim" in Halle (1991). After working as a projectionist in several cinemas, he co-founded his own cinema "Lux.Kino" in Halle (2000-2012). He is also the co-founder and owner of "Puschkino" (2005), member of Europa Cinemas.
