The LUX Prize’s 10th Anniversary: MUSTANG all over Europe on October 10

On the 10th of October 2016, Europa Cinemas is proud to join forces with the European Parliament to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the LUX Prize awarded each year to a European film.

The LUX Prize puts an annual spotlight on films that go to the heart of European public debate and help to present different views on some of the main social and political current issues and, as such, contribute to building a stronger European identity. The LUX Prize also supports the European film industry via subtitling selected films into the 24 languages of the European Union.

The European Parliament is a very important partner of Europa Cinemas. We have been working closely with the LUX Prize since its inception in 2007 and in particular since 2010 through the “28 Times Cinema ” initiative in Venice.

As part of the many events that will take place on this anniversary day, one of the most important will be the simultaneous screening in the 28 countries of the European Union of “MUSTANG” by Deniz Gamze Ergüven - Europa Cinemas Label in Cannes and LUX Prize recipient, both in 2015.
